Paradise Valley Homes – Have Scorpions – I recommend
Get rid of uninvited house guests in your luxury Paradise Valley home! I’m not talking about that friend who always pops by, but rather scorpions. They love the desert climate. Scorpions like to nest in and near homes. With this in mind, Inspect the Home for Scorpions.
The best thing to do to get rid of these intruders and insects in your Paradise Valley home is to call a pest control service. A good friend of mine with a home in the nearby Arcadia community recommends Arizona Exterminators at 602-275-8555. Another key point is, I always recommend you ask them or any company – for their most experienced technician. Remember sometimes multiple treatments are necessary to eliminate a long-standing scorpion issue. Elimination of scorpions is of primary importance for those interested in selling a Paradise Valley home. The presents of Scorpions or any pest including termites must be disclosed to potential home buyers.
Scorpions in Paradise Valley Homes – TMI
A little trivia. Scorpions are not an insect. Scorpions are actually a distant cousin of spiders. Therefore, if you haven’t seen one in your luxury Paradise Valley home; that is a positive sign. There are at least five species of scorpions that make their home in Arizona. In fact, all are venomous. The one you need to worry about getting into your luxury Paradise Valley home is the bark scorpion. Bark scorpions are skinny and yellowish in color. Its sting can cause intense pain, numbness and on very rare situation death. What’s more is, bark scorpions like to climb vertical surfaces. So check your walls, drapes and furniture.
Inspecting for and Preventing Scorpions
In order to keep these critters out of your luxury Paradise Valley home. Or out of a home in Paradise Valley for sale. Exterminators recommend weather stripping and caulking. Additionally, outside, keep food and water sources out-of-reach. Thirdly – even well-watered lawns provide shelter and water. Another key point is, remind your children to pick up their damp towels after going for a swim. Scorpions love to hide under damp surfaces. Also, switch your outdoor lights from white to yellow. Yellow doesn’t attract bugs as much. And remove woodpiles near your house and any piles of built up lawn debris or like material . Furthermore – Have the home professionally inspected at night with a black light, due to the fact Scorpions glow in the black light.
Good luck. Remember you can check your house at night for scorpions. Use the special black light available at most hardware stores.
